Betty White on the cover of Parade Magazine

Betty White, everyone's favorite octogenarian, is discussing cougars and gay marriage for the Sunday newspaper crowd. In an interview set to run in this Sunday's Parade Magazine, White shared her inclusive political views:

“I don’t care who anybody sleeps with. If a couple has been together all that time -- and there are gay relationships that are more solid than some heterosexual ones -- I think it’s fine if they want to get married. I don’t know how people can get so anti-something. Mind your own business, take care of your affairs, and don’t worry about other people so much.”

Sure, Betty White is popular among the younger set these days, but let's hope her older followers notice her progressive stance. Parade is the most widely-read, uncool magazine in the U.S. And if anyone's going to reach conservative grandparents who still say O-BAM-a, it's the cute former Golden Girl in cougar ears. If White can revive respect for older actors in Hollywood, maybe she can be an ambassador for gay rights, too. Other than TV and movie acting, posing for a calendar, and penning her memoirs, she's not too busy.
