I certainly agree that if she was actually "desparate" to have a family the difficulties are purely in her head. If she feels that she needs a man in the picture, ( and D lister Gail O'Grady, for example, just proceeded without ) she would have an effectively unlimited selection of candidates for the role no matter if she wanted it played as mack, or Suitcase Pimp, or Casper Milquetoast, or whatever.

My guess is that Jennifer is really a slapper. It's pretty easy to start a family, but it's a lot easier to carry on.
