Okay, let’s do this. I swear I’ll be back to ridiculous gadgets and whatnot tomorrow, but for today, I’m embracing the full range of my geekiness, and you’re all going to just have to deal with it.

Beyond TV and movies, I love video games, which you may have been able to tell from the copious Retro Arcade posts on this blog. I’m also, more specifically, a big Nintendo fanboy… It’s what I grew up on, and Nintendo is nothing if not good at keeping their consumer base. I also love racing games a lot, so imagine my glee upon discovering the original Mario Kart, which combines Nintendo characters with “intense” racing gameplay.
The game is getting an upgrade for the motion controls of the Wii, and I couldn’t be more excited. Keep your Smash Bros. and Metroid franchises… Mario Kart Wii is the game I’m completely jacked for.
Also new in the game is online capability, which let’s you compete against up to 11 other friends on one track, or strangers from all over the world, if you prefer. The game comes out at the end of the month, but for now, you can watch a preview of it in action below:
