I love the whole Philosophy skin care line, especially the facial
cleanser, Purity, and the moisturizer, Hope in a Jar. Man, smear that
on your face a couple times a day and just watch as your skin starts
glowing like candles on a fucking birthdaycake. But, wow, that stuff
gets expensive and with the economy on its way to hell in a hand
basket, most of us just don't have the beauty budget we'd like to have.
So, what's a girly girl to do? Make her own awesome skin care products,
that's what. what. So, in honor of Earth Day, I rounded up some of my
favorite homemade skin care recipes that use all natural ingredients free — or on the cheap — from Mamma Earth:
Grape Cleanser
Grape juice makes an excellent cleanser for any skin type. Simply split one or two large grapes, remove the pips and rub the flesh all over face and neck. Rinse off with cool water.

Avocado Facial
Avocado is a naturally rich
moisturizer. Mash the meat of the avocado into a creamy
texture. Massage into the face and neck. Leave on for
15 minutes and gently rinse off.

Fresh Glow Mask
Take 3 tablespoons of pure tomato juice, mix in 25 grams of plain
yogurt, and then mix with fifty grams of cooled, cooked oatmeal. Apply
the combined mixtures of paste all over your face and neck area, and
let sit for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, gently rinse with lukewarm
water and gently pat dry.
