My grandparents had a phone like this one in their kitchen for years and years. The cord must have been about 15 or 20 feet long and when my grandmother would take calls in the livingroom, the cord would stretch into the next room, and I'd snap it against the wall like a slingshot until she'd finally get the hint and hang up. These days, the black retro-style kitchen phone reminds me of a simpler era when all I needed for a good time was an empty mason jar and an evening sky full of fireflies in my grandparents' back yard. Lucky for me, I can still capture a bit of those days gone by with this classic Back Room Phone.
