In seventh grade biology class, like most kids, we were given the assignment to dissect a frog. I don’t remember whether we had lab partners at the time, but I do know that the class was given the assignment to remove the frog’s entire digestive tract. Of the ten groups in the class, I was the only student to successfully remove the entire tract, intact. Not only that, but after noticing a bulge in the stomach, and making a small incision, I found that there were two entire cicadas that had been perfectly preserved in the frog’s stomach!
The teacher was impressed, I got an A, and right then and there, I decided that I wanted to become a gastro-intestinal surgeon. It wasn’t until four years later that I realized, when you become a gastro-intestinal surgeon, that doesn’t mean you’re removing people’s entire gastro-intestinal tract.
And that’s when I knew I wanted to become a professional blogger.
In any case, now I’d probably vomit and pass out at the thought of cutting open a frog, let alone removing cicada shells from its stomach. But this Frog Anatomy puzzle is a different story. The puzzle contains 31 detailed pieces, so you can pull apart the frog, and then safely put him back together. No blood, no formaldehyde, and certainly no cicadas.
