Quick Tip of the Day: Cat Hair Lifter

I love my cats, I really do. When I was single and lived alone, they kept me company at home and gave me someone to talk to besides my house plants. And now that we've moved to New York and in with a boy, the four of us are a happy litttle family. Life certainly wouldn't be the same without them and a day doesn't go by that I don't count myself lucky that we all found our way to each other. But, my God, the cat hair! Everywhere! On the sofa, on the bed, on the rugs, and on the curtains! Thankfully, I found a product that picks up the hair almost magically, so I don't have to live in an apartment that screams "Crazy Cat Lady":

 

Have you guys tried one of these before? Seriously one of the best things to happen to pet owners since self-emptying litter boxes.

Has anyone used this for dog hair? Completely different monster than cat hair.  I've tried most things, short of shaving my animals to bald. Oh, and daily cleaning, I haven't tried that yet either.  Furminator - not that much better than a regular brush for my type of dog(s), those rubber broom things, super sticky adhesive things (work for a printing company, super sticky sheets beyond lint sheets - however you need a butt-load to get the job done and they sort of pull at the fabric threads in a manner that can't be good), lint remover brushes, static guard, fabric refresher, new vacuums, oh and the list goes on.  If this $5 item would work for pulling up every last hair from the carpet...I'm not sure I could handle that much happy in my lifetime, let alone a day.
