The only thing wrong with this Toshiba laptop…
it’s not an Apple. Out a few months before the MacBook Air, the R500 ultraportable beats it on most every dimension.*
That person sending that Apple in an inter-office envelope failed to include a little note stating that the external DVD drive and sufficient hard drive storage were coming under separate cover, most likely in a box with a kilometer of cables. This Toshiba is thin, too. But in stature only. And thick with ability – world’s thinnest optical drive, a solid state hard drive, world’s longest battery life for a widescreen laptop and so on.

Heck, the warlocks at Toshiba even figured a way to not only cut glare when working outdoors but to use the sun to illuminate the screen. It’s a remarkable laptop. Sorry, Steve, you can’t make the coolest gadget in every category.
