Gin Cocktails Never Tasted So Good (NSFW)

Nerve threw a big party last night at a cabaret club complete with fire dancers, magicians, human contortionists, and a woman in glittery pasties who took a bath on stage. Attendees were asked to come dressed "Victorian, Georgian, Edwardian, Decadence, Dandy, Peculiar & Fantastic...With most unusual opulence and decadence, Burlesque with a twist of debaucherie escorted by a pinch of class." Yes, this is the same party in which Steph needed some help choosing an outfit. She looked fantastic, by the way, and I only wish my camera took better photos in the dark so I could show you just how awesome she looked. Perhaps she'll have some photos to share later?

Anyway, the one above is of me and my bf after many, many gin cocktails and perhaps a bit of spontaneous smooching in the corner booth (notice the matching lipgloss). More photos below, plus a close-up of my favorite accessory and the one pic you're really hoping to see:

Not the best backdrop I realize, but here's a full shot of my ensemble. I totally forgot the gloves and I realized too late that patterned/fishnet stocking would have been way cooler. Oh, well! I got the dress a couple weeks ago (before I even got an invite to the party) and UrbanOutfitters. The necklaces I found on eBay a few days before I found the dress, and the shoes I scored (for 30% off, thank you very much) at a vintage shop in Manhattan. But my favorite part of the outfit was this adorable hat:

[$45, Jillian Gala]

A girl was selling her handmade cocktail hats on the street in SoHo and I got this one with a veil and green peacock feather (or is it ostrich? I can't remember). Anyhow, she doesn't exactly have an online store, but you can contact her through her myspace page if you're interested in ordering one for yourself. Mine was $45 and sooo worth it. I just love it. Almost as much as I loved those gin cocktails, holy shit.

Okay, because I know you guys just care about the lady in glittery pasties taking a bath on stage, here ya go (don't say I never did anything for you):

Aren't you getting a little too old for this type of behavior? It's high time you got a real job with a future!

I hope I'm never too old to dress up and drink gin. As for a real job, well, I have one. So...

Oh god...too old to have fun!? Now that we're all old enough to have respectable-type jobs, I think a wild night here and there is even more necessary! (Especially since I'm so lame that I go to bed way early every other night.)
