My Living Room Wall: Peacock Prints and Hues

Posted by Steph Auteri

As I mentioned yesterday, I spent the weekend searching Etsy for the perfect wall hanging to replace my johnclark prints. Scrutinizing my living room, it suddenly occurred to me that — without even realizing it — I had been decorating with a peacock-like palette. Hardly a surprise, considering my love of all things peacock. (I want these so bad.)

Pictured above is the antique chair I inherited from my grandparents, decorated with a deep purple throw pillow my mom had back in her dorm room days. After the jump, find more photos of the green and purple pieces in my living room, and the artwork I'm considering adding into the mix.

Here are two shots of the corner of my living room, where I've placed a large vase from Target's annual Global Bazaar line. The print on the wall is also from that line.

I have a bunch of those purple prints, spread over the wall.

Looking all this over, I decided that I needed a large, bold print incorporating both purple and green. My black & white johnclark prints just don't seem to fit in. What do you think of the following?

[$35, Etsy

[$350, Etsy

[$80, Etsy

[$30, Etsy

[$200, Etsy

What's the verdict, guys?

I like the $30... you'll keep the nature theme of the purple prints.  The purple and green in it really pulls the room together - I think more so than the others.

I like the second one from the bottom--it'll go with the color theme and also sort of matches that awesome floor vase.
