The VCR is Toast

There's some tech nostalgia I can understand. Records have a scratchy charm to them that you just can't reproduce on a CD or Mp3. I miss Rabbit Ears, even if they mean a lesser signal on your TV. But I totally, in no shape or form miss the VCR. It can die in hell for all I care.

Though, if you're going to use it for something, I guess toast is fine:

Hocus Toastus!

This is a toaster. Known throughout the world (and especially in my kitchen) as the necessary device that produces the manna of modern civilization: buttery, crunchy, all-around-perfect toast.

Luke, I Am Your Toaster

I love Star Wars. In fact, I love it so much that I own a LaserDisc player just so I can watch the trilogy in its original form (ie minus the crappy added CGI scenes that are in every DVD version). And yes, this is what it means to be a true nerd.

It also just so happens that I love toast more than any normal human should. If there were a toast trilogy, I would watch that on LaserDisc, too.

So when Darth Vader and toast come together in such a perfect and complete union, I am understandably stoked:

I am really clumsy. We're talking off the charts, slapstick style, don't have to be drunk to trip over the same pair of shoes in the corner five times clumsy. And I've found that this clumsiness does not always go well with my penchant for novelty items, particularly in The Danger Zone, a.k.a. my kitchen.
