
As I was lazily walking around Tribeca with my friend I stumbled on
this bike shop and decided to check out bikes and how much nice ones go
for. I maintained cool composure until I saw the Bianchi Milano. It was like love at first sight. There was one small problem. . .it costs $700.
My
friend, also savvy to ridiculously expensive purchases (he just bought
a Global kitchen knife set for $400), helped me justify it and I
decided that I was going to buy the bike. I managed to find a 3-speed
version for a little less than $500, which is definitly more in my
price range. But if I want to use this bike practically (read: ride
around the city and lock it up outside without worrying about theft),
I'm going to need some heavy duty locks:
