I thought these things were nonsense--freaky, hippy, xenophilic nonsense and I'm a hippy--, but it has really helped my allergies. My sinuses are also clear for probably the first time in 20 years.

Yes, they do work, especially if you have regular sinus problems. They are freaky as all heck, but better than anything my doctor has suggested.

I think that's mainly it... The idea of having water spurt out of my nose is completely terrifying. BUT, if it works, it works.

Yeah Adam, I was worried that my reaction to the photo was inappropriate...thanks for making me feel normal.

I've tried the neti pot, but not on a regular basis. If you're willing to use it consistently, I'm sure it works great. For those of us who aren't as hot on regiment, I'd say the "Oh my god I'm going to drown" feeling goes away pretty quickly, but the results are minimal. On the rare occasion I dig it out of my cabinet and try it, the process still brings tears to my eyes and instills momentary, irrational fear.

My sister uses this thing every day and swears by it. She keeps telling me to try it since we have the same stuffed up issues that we inherited from our dad. I haven't quite worked up the courage to try it, as it creeps me out.

But check out that blonde. Makes me think we ought to have "neti porn." (I'm not serious--just want to make that 100% clear :).)

This is a great form of self-care. We sell them, use and love them. Keep the pollen, pollution and icky mucus from just sitting inside your sinus cavity. I admit this is not very American in concept, but once you try it you will get one of your own. I just sold one to a farmer that has been in this desert valley for almost 50 years; the immediate look of joy and relief on his face was priceless. Don't poo-poo ancient knowledge, I mean it.

They do work, although my husband likes to joke that I'm waterboarding myself when I use it.

I have used one regularly and they work better than anything when you are having sinus issues. The only problem is it is not easy to get used to pouring water in one nostril and out the other. When you are not "clear" and really needing a Neti pot, it's not easy and pretty like the video.

Definitely not for everyone, but honestly works better than anything else when you have allergies. Got me through a 3 day outdoor music festival and I have hardcore allergies that keep me inside.
