Her new album, which came out yesterday, is streaming on AOL
and we’ve (only me, actually, no need to bring the rest of the office into this)
been listening to it. It’s good! It’s very
synthy, danceable and hooky. The songs are slickly produced with
lots of layered blips and beeps and heavy breathing reminiscent of “Toxic.” True, her voice sounds like it came out of a
machine, but it probably did, so that’s ok.
You’ve probably already heard the single,
"Gimme More," but if not check out that first (link goes to the video). The second song on the album, “Piece of Me” is
also quite good and begging to be remixed into a dance-hall hit. The tunes get less exciting towards the end of the album
but the whole thing is definitely worth checking out.
