"Turn out the light! Turn out the light! Turn out the aaahhhh...."
We
here at the Insider are super-excited about tomorrow’s Earth Hour 2008. What is Earth Hour,
you say? At little idea started in Sydney last year, organized by the World Wildlife Fund:
starting at 8 pm on Saturday,
March 29, everybody turns off their lights, for one hour.
Why, you say? It eases the
pressure we put on the earth’s resources. Though it sounds like a small
gesture, when last year’s 2.2 million people did that, it saved the energy
equivalent of taking 48,000 cars off the road. Plus, an hour in the dark gives
a fabulous excuse to get start your
evening hook up much earlier than usual. A cleaner earth and sexy dirty deeds? Sign us up.
You can sign up here, joining such
illustrious forces as Nelly Furtado, the Blue Man Group and—yes, I know, it’s
almost too much to believe—Fall Out Boy.
