High school has never been known for its progressive stances on women’s issues. Back in our day, when we rode the horse-drawn carriage to first period, principals would whip out rulers to measure how far from the knee your dress came. We’ve no doubt this was the best part of our principal’s day. Much better than a Doral Light in the teacher’s lounge. Today we get word that two high school females were thrown out of a football game for painting their bodies. (In related news, they were immediately given season passes to Ozzfest.) Do we think this is stupid? We do. It’s a display of school spirit. And a brave sacrifice to your car seats. However, we’re not sure we would suggest anyone wearing bikini tops to a football game. We might gently suggest a little more pocket protection.
