Nothing Says Sexy Like Being a Survivor

Posted by Bryan Christian

As anyone who's ever had a serious illness knows, nothing can make you feel less sexy than knowing that somewhere inside of you, your own body is rebelling against you. Which makes the "Cancer Uncensored" photoshoot all the more impressive. Because Jessica, the totally cute subject of the shoot, went in front of the lens pretty much right after going under the knife.

Jessica was twenty-five years old when she found a rock in her breast - not an amorphous, "now you feel it, now you don't" kind of lump, but a bona fide solid foreign object. After a biopsy that came back negative, and a relatively minimally invasive procedure where her surgeon cut the mass into pieces to remove it (in order to diminish any potential scarring), she found out that the initial diagnosis had been wrong. She had cancer.

How often do we get an inspiring tale of survival with matching pinup pics? Not often enough. Actually, there's not even enough of these. Hey Waiting Room Magazine, how about more than just a couple of images from Jessica's shoot? In our humble opinion, we could all use a little more of this sort of inspiration.
