Billary Attacks!

Posted by Brian Fairbanks

Nominating Hillary Clinton for President would surely be the dumbest move by the party that brought you Michael Dukakis and John Kerry. It's not because she's a woman that Senator Clinton is doomed to lose. It's because she's Senator Clinton.

Let's list the ways Hillary Clinton is going to lose the general election:

-by sending racist signals to the white community that a black man cannot win (but a woman can?), Bill this week made a snide reference to Jesse Jackson having won the South Carolina primary in '84 and '88. In other words, if a black man (Obama) wins South Carolina, it doesn't mean he can win the nomination or the Presidency. Um, Bill... those years gave us Mondale and Dukakis... I don't think Jesse Jackson would have actually been a worse candidate.

-Bill Clinton is actually hurting Hillary by being on the attack all the time. It gives off the impression their campaign is going down in flames and that Obama is the frontrunner. This weakens the steamroller they need if they have any hope of rolling over McCain in November.

-Clinton-Bush fatigue. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you must be over the age of 26, which means you've lived through a time when there wasn't a Clinton or Bush in the White House. As ow is a country desperate for change going to support an organization that's basically been in power since 1992?

-McCain has one of the highest approval ratings in the country.

-McCain goes toe-to-toe with her on issue, from experience to campaign finance reform. McCain has fought corruption, while Clinton refuses to disclose the names of donors to the Clinton Library.

-Hillary is among "the Kerries and Dukaki of the world," as Marco Ceglie put it. They are not "electable" outside of core Democratic circles because of their lack of crossover appeal.

-McCain just got the endorsement of Sylvester Stallone. 'Nuff said.

Let us not forget the time she sexually harassed a poor camera man who was covering her in the race for senate. She was enjoying the wires in the "wrong" place too much and very inappropriately thanked the man for his mistake (even asked him to do it again). Tactless. And clearly anxious and uncomfortable in front of a camera. And she wants to be president?
