Scanner-Reader-Inspired "Who Would You Rather": DD Lewis vs. Bardem

Posted by Katie Halper

The People have spoken. Or the Scanner-readers have commented. In response to Tuesday's On Our To-Do List: Javier Bardem post, Andrea Gorenstein, an engaged Scanner citizen, exercised her blog-given rights, and sparked a healthy debate, writing: "Just waiting for a 'who would you rather' Day-Lewis vs. Bardem!"

Well, we at Scanner know that this kind of Gorensteinian civic participation strengthens our Scannerocracy. So we now open the blogging floor to debate  the Bardem-Lewis European 2008 Oscar-winning Ratherability Act. Speak up readers! Or forever hold your comments.

Maybe it's because I'm really not gay, but I couldn't possibly choose between these two.

I'd have to go with surtsey on this one. (Not, not that I'd rather surtsey, I mean I'd stretch my straw across the room. Okay, that didn't come out right...)

I WOULD have said Daniel Day Lewis.  I really would have.  But then I watched the Oscars.  I'm really disturbed by his earring.  I'm not sure why.  I usually don't mind earrings on men.  But there's something about it....it's just wrong.

So, Bardem, I guess.

Daniel Day Lewis???  How on earth could you even consider having sex with someone who says something like this: “it seems to me that this [Oscar] sprang like a golden sapling out of the mad, beautiful head of Paul Thomas Anderson.”

Blech.  Please.  Gross.

Hmm, Celtic Tiger, or Iberian Tiger (credit USAToday special section on Spain)?  I 'heart' Ireland, but if I have to choose, Javi's the one who makes it race.

DDL looked hotter in the movie than he did at the Oscars. Vice versa for Bardem. I'd say Bardem even though the pirate look is totally hot.

Man, I´m a Bardem´s stalker since the very Jamón, Jamón days....But, hell, Day-Lewis has been, to me, what di Caprio has been to you average Seventeen reader in the 90´s...!! I´d drain his oil ocean dry!

DDL-Milkshake-wannabes, unite!
