Howard Stern Contest Gets Connecticut Teacher Fired

Posted by Bryan Christian

Does the King of All Media owe Southington, CN CT second-grade teacher Marie Jarry anything after publishing photos of her participating in an on-the-air "Ugliest Guy, Hottest Wife" contest -- which then got her fired? We kind of don't think so. She already won five grand, first off. Second off, she probably signed something that said "Pictures of you WILL be put on HowardStern.com," right? Third... what? Like, no one was supposed to know? He's not the KING OF SOME MEDIA! It's ALL MEDIA! Someone. Will. Find out.

I heard the news on the Stern show, the husband had called in. It's sad really, she didn't do anything provocative and only really stood there in a bikini. There was some talk of their sex lives, but nothing x-rated, mostly goofing around about how her husband was so fat that his penis looks smaller then it really is. Silly, fun stuff that people talk about, every day. The news report made it seem like she did some questionable things on the show that warranted her resignation. And no, the Stern show doesn't owe her a thing, they do sign waivers to be on the show. It's just a shame that a teacher had to lose her job over this.

Emily Farris writes about culture and food for numerous publications and websites you've probably never heard of, including her own blog eefers. Her first cookbook, Casserole Crazy: Hot Stuff for Your Oven was published in 2008. Emily recently escaped New York and now lives in a ridiculously large apartment in Kansas City, MO with her cat, but just one... so far.

Brian Fairbanks is a filmmaker living in the wilds of Brooklyn. He previously wrote for the Hartford Courant and Gawker. He won the Williamsburg Spelling Bee once. He loves cats, women with guns, and burning books.

Colleen Kane has been an editor at BUST and Playgirl magazines and has written for the endangered species of dead-tree magazines like SPIN and Plenty, as well as Radar Online and other websites. She lives in exile in Baton Rouge with her fiance, two dogs, and her former cat. Read her personal blogs at ColleenKane.com.
