Obama Turns Hillary Down

Posted by Brian Fairbanks

The blogosphere is abuzz with unconfirmed reports that Senator Clinton called Senator Obama and personally asked for Vice Presidential shot. Obama, for undisclosed reasons, gave her a definitive "no."

If this turns out to be true, then a controversial Air America e-mail (which we read with a grumble yesterday) encouraging Obama to "Ask Hillary First" came a day late. And would've been ignored anyway.

Meanwhile, Obama is forming a selection committee headed by the man who chose John Edwards and, ironically, Geraldine Ferraro as the nominees of, respectively, John Kerry and Walter Mondale.

Obama seems to be leaning toward a pick along the lines of Jim Web... or maybe Webb himself? [Fox News]
