I Love Myself for Loving You: Jim James

Posted by Emily Farris

You know where I'll be tonight? No, you don't, but you'll find out in a little while. You know where I won't be tonight? Bonnaroo, watching My Morning Jacket headline the second day of the four-day music festival.

This is sad, you see, because I happen to be madly in love with Jim James, the lead singer of My Morning Jacket.

I know what you're thinking: burly bearded dude, of course she's in love with him. Yes, yes, yes. But have you heard him sing?

Watch this scene from "I'm Not There" where James performs with Calexico and tell me you're not haunted by his voice.

If you're not haunted by that song, you have no soul. But if the white face just doesn't do it for you, give this one a go.

James recently gave an interview to Paste magazine and had this to say about being single:

"I feel pretty untethered these days... like a balloon floating around. While it’s certainly an adventure, the grass is always greener. All my stuff is in storage, I’m no longer in a relationship, so I’m pretty much just searching with an open mind. Unlike in the past, we plan on keeping some time for ourselves this go-round.”

Well, Jim. It certainly takes an open mind to be with a girl like me. And you can totally keep your stuff at my place.

Oh Jim James, I love myself for loving you. But I would really like you to love me, too.
