Video of the Day: McCain's Running Mate?

Posted by Brian Fairbanks

John McCain's ad attacking Obama for being a "celebrity" was hilarious because McCain's people had to then scramble to remove every reference to McCain's "fame" and "celebrity" from his campaign website.

The intensity of the recent drive -- which has included some assertions from the McCain campaign that have been widely dismissed as misleading -- has surprised even some allies of Mr. McCain, who has frequently spoken about the need for civility in politics. [MSNBC]

Misleading is putting out mildly. If Obama had run ads with made up quotes, idiotic comparisons to ditzy pop tarts, and a total lack of any meaningful discourse in a desperate effort to recapture the public's interest, he would be busted down to State Senator for life.

Check out the ad here.
