Michael Phelps Dresses... Up?

Posted by Brian Fairbanks

At least Michael Phelps doesn't exaggerate his athletic prowess.

It seems our very own swimming sensation is trying to steal some thunder from Germany's Olympians, Amanda Beard, and those twin hotties from Brazil with his very own decent exposure...

Of course, Phelps didn't pose for Playboy or any other publication. He certainly wasn't trying to perform a nude shoot for us, but that's basically what he did with the above swimwear "modeling." The below photo is just begging for a Caption This, so have at it...

Thanks to "profrobert" for the tip. We'll let him have the last word:

He wears it *up*?  I know about "dressing left" and "dressing right," but "dressing up"?  That looks so . . . uncomfortable.

Well, it could be a boner...

Finally. After all those unfortunate wardrobe malfuctions for the ladies and their nipples...

It's more aerodynamic in the up position.

Not only does wearing it "up" reduce drag and water resistance, it provides lateral stability much like a boat's keel.

wouldn't want it to the side so you drift into other people's lanes.

Dude...  if you pull that swimsuit on, everything's bound to be pulled "up" with it.

Have you seen what the track guys wear? This is almost modest in comparison.

do you think he wore "it" that way on purpose, maybe to draw attention to himself? Or do you think it's just the way it goes with the swimsuit?
