Working Out With the Naked Cowboy

Posted by Nicole Pasulka

You have heard about the Naked Cowboy, no? You may have even seen him once or twice as he happens to be a favorite among news producers who are desperate to fill a 5-minute segment between that piece on a potential war with Iran and the footage of three squirrels who got their tails tied in a knot.

In case you're new to the Naked Cowboy, here's the gist: He hangs out in Times Square playing the guitar and wearing a cowboy hat, boots and a speedo and poses suggestively for photos with grandmas in town from Iowa.

What you may not have known, and what we just discovered ourselves, is that it takes a lot of gym time to keep the Naked Cowboy's body street friendly. How much gym time, exactly?

According to this article:

"I go to the gym pretty much every single day of the week to do free weights for an hour a day. I'm so religious that I generally do chest, back, shoulders, arms and legs every day. I go in there and I crush absolutely everything, super-setting everything. And I'm right now running about an hour and 45 minutes, 10 miles, every day.

And if there was ever any question about the Naked Cowboy's sanity before now, his attitude toward working out should clear up those doubts once and for all:

"I lift weights for an hour and run for nearly two hours every day, but I would never call exercising 'tedious.' Once you do that, you'll be pitting it against what you'd rather be doing, and a kingdom that is divided cannot stand.

"I think of my workout only as fun - the most fun there is."

Will someone please give the guy a Vh1 reality show already and put us all out of our misery.
