If we had to guess, we'd say "sexting" is sending a text message booty call. We'd be wrong. "Sexting," apparently, is "sexy photos being sent from phone to phone.... a trend that teens and their parents ought to know about. "

Because, uh, you could go to jail for it.

I am not sure about which part I like best: that the call letters of this TV station are WHAM! or that the old gray-haired news anchor is shocked, SHOCKED! that teenagers in school send text messages to each other.
