There are many scary things in the world: pedophiles, zombies, rabid bats, etc. And in this day and age, most American kids have been conditioned to avoid them. (See also: strangers, drugs, illicit touching in the sparkly bits.) Except for (cue creepy music!) refrigerators!

This extra creepy PSA comes to us via a HuffPost reader, who swears they actually used to see this on TV. If only the Brits channeled their fear of old fridges into sex education...

Children used to die in thrown out fridges.  The style of the psa is 70's scary and I'm assuming that's when it was made, but it was a real problem and can still happen if the door isn't removed before disposal.

Another regular Saturday morning, scare-the-shit-out-of-the-kids ad break mainstay this. The writer Phil Tonge described it as 'the Cannibal Holocaust of British public information films.'
