Are men boring? According to Sabine Durrant,"A straw poll among friends and relations would suggest the contention is so irrefutable that evidence is barely necessary." Ouch.
The myriad accusations against men in social situations include:
- "The more macho a man is, the more boring he can be--that's why gay men are generally better company."
- Men are sort of like people with mild autistim.
- Women used to enjoy the company of men--in their 20s, when men weren't so boring.
- Maybe it's because of testosterone.
- Introverted men end up with extroverted women as predicted by Swiss phychiatrist Carl Jung.
So, as you can see, lots of ideas here. Actually Durrant is pretty even-handed with her judgments and eventually compromises by resorting to the time-honored explanation:
- Men different from women because of biology.
