The Pelican Hotel
in Miami, a property owned by Diesel, is Scanner Colleen's idea of a
dreamhouse (to borrow a term from Barbie, as she so often does, such as
"math is hard"). Each themed room is designed to look like it was
transported from another decade, and on the website, each room like my
favorite, Executive Sixties above, comes with a suggested soundtrack.
In this case, it'sEsquivel: Exploring New Sounds in Stereo. Whatchamacallit, Esquivel?
For
the room dubbed Best Whorehouse, which employs the classic bordello
aesthetic of velveteen cushions, heart-shaped chair backs, the color
red, and general whorishness (whores not included), the suggested
listening is not anything from Dolly Parton's Best Little Whorehouse Soundtrack, but Martin Denny's Exotica: The Best of Martin Denny.
More decade-specific hotel porn after the jump.
