We hope this is real and not the viral marketing work of some jean company...

Sometimes the stories are too small for their own posts. Sometimes there are two many stories for one week, which is definitely the case here.

Today, we'll present: the Not Ready For Daytime Players... in This Week in Sex, featuring tales of football teams, Bollywood nudity, Melissa Joan Hart, Playboy, brothers, and... Susan Boyle?!

A minister in Florida (where else) is being investigated for possibly sexually assaulting members of a high school football team. The man allegedly promised his victims help in their athletic careers-- not sure how his religion fits into sports. Maybe he promised to rig the coin tosses?

Apparently, there will be full frontal male nudity in a Bollywood movie. (We can't confirm that this is actually the first legitimate male nude scene from that genre, but it sounds about right.)

Melissa Joan Hart says she never did Playboy because her Maxim cover caused her brother too much embarrassment.

The State of Nevada decided not to tax brothel sex, but not before this classic quote was delivered:

"I don't know why people won't recognize that we have a legal industry," state Sen. Bob Coffin, who introduced the legislation, told the Associated Press. "I'm willing to go in and do the dirty work if no one else will."

Thanks, Senator, but your sexpertise won't be required. Moving on...

Jim Gibbons, Republican Governor of Nevada and accused sexual assailant, is one helluva piece of work. We've previously told you about Gibbons and an incident involving a waitress who claims she was assaulted and told to "shut up" by the Governor one night in a parking garage, although no charges were filed.

Now, the juicy details of the Gibbons family divorce are burning up the wire...

Mrs. Dawn Gibbons was sick of Gibbons and his philandering, although it was the Governor who filed for divorce last spring. Nonetheless, she has a bone to pick with him about his affairs with two specific women, although more infidelities are alleged.

1) One woman received approximately 860 texts from Gibbons's state-issued cell. When this information first came to light, Romeo was forced to reimburse $130. According to USA Today, Gibbons denies these were love notes.

2) As depicted in the photograph above, the Love Gov. is alleged to have snatched up a colleague's ex-wife: specifically the ex-wife of Reno's Mayor, who happens to be Leslie Durant, a former Playboy bunny and, we believe, Miss September 1989, something not reported in the mainstream media. (See here for a blog that discusses their relationship and outs her as 9/89's girl.) UPDATE: It has come to our attention that someone other than a Leslie Durant was Miss September that year, although there is a variety of evidence Leslie Durant (probably under her maiden name) appeared in Playboy that month.

Let us remind everyone that it's better to break up with someone than to cheat on them and try to get away with it. Gibbons hasn't learned that lesson from Bill Clinton or Spitzer, apparently.

On Saturday night, the Tropicana Hotel and Casino bid adieu to Les Folies Bergere, its legendary topless revue.

Today, we look back at 50 years of photos from the classic Showgirls-style dinner theater performance, which broke new ground for "tasteful" public nudity...

Beginning on Christmas Day of 1959, the show enjoyed nearly 30,000 performances on the Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to new research, the number of baby boys being circumcised in the U.S. is dropping. While critics of circumcision may think this is a good thing, the reason behind the drop may not be.

Circumcision rates have decreased significantly since the 1980s, partially due to the fact that many people find the procedure cruel and unnecessary, but in part the drop can be attributed to the fact that 16 states do not currently cover the cost of a circumcision in their Medicad programs. According to some, this is taking the choice away from the poor.

Robert C. Bailey, a professor of epidemiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, thinks that "It's another way in which our health system is increasing inequality across the population. People who can't afford good health care are essentially being discriminated against by this policy."

The states that don't cover circumcision are: Arizona, California, Florida, Idaho, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Utah and Washington and circumcision rates are "significantly lower" in those states, according to the research.

Virginia, Georgia, Kentucky, New Mexico, Nevada and other early-voting states are already tilting the election toward Obama... as long as the machines register their votes, of course.

Seriously, though, this year we'll be able to watch our votes disappear in real time, thanks to Wired's awesome new interactive map...

You can check out the map here... when you do, note the following interesting complaints:

1) A voter in Chicago complains he was challenged by an inspector and asked for proof of residence at the poll.
2) Long lines at the North Miami Public Library.
3) Incorrect votes recorded in Nevada (people-- make sure to double-check your selections, it can't hurt to spend an extra thirty seconds in that booth.)

Also note the map is just getting underway... it will likely be chock full of chaos within the next week...

Talk about living vicariously through your children... a woman in Wisconsin took advantage of the fact that her 15-year-old daughter lived with her father in another state and enrolled in her local high school under her daughter's name to become a cheerleader and get a high school diploma. Wendy Brown, 33, who faces identity theft charges, apparently attended high school so she could regain the part of her childhood that she missed. Unfortunately, though, she didn't hold attending class in high enough regard and bounced a $134.50 check for her cheerleading uniform.

According to a school employee, Brown wasn't good at math and cried when talking about transferring from another high school. She played the part, but did she look it? You decide:

22-Year-Old Woman Auctions Off Virginity On Howard Stern

Maybe it's because he's been broadcasting from a secret undisclosed space station, but we're trying to figure out how Howard Stern thinks he can get away with selling a woman's virginity in this Puritan society...

According to the New York Daily News, a twenty-two-year-old virgin was set to auction herself off on Howard Stern's Sirius satellite radio show today. We can only assume, what with the photo of her, that he pulled it off.

The San Diego girl, who already holds a bachelor's degree in women's studies and wants to go back to school to get her doctorate in marriage and family therapy, hopes an online auction for her "honor" will fund her back-to-school goal. (If you doubt a woman's virginity will go for that much money, remember that someone paid $1.5 million for another woman's honor recently.) Her sister, who works at the famed Bunny Ranch in Nevada, offered the Bunny Ranch website and digs for the occasion.

[Natalie Dylan, not her real name] says the winner won't necessarily be the highest bidder. "I want someone with chemistry. We'll take bids until I find a suitor I'm happy with.”
Dylan was introduced to Stern by Dennis Hof, proprietor of the Moonlite Bunny Ranch...

Hof says the auction will be conducted online via bunnyranch.com, and that the deal will be consummated at the Bunny Ranch, where Dylan's sister already works. "I think it's a tremendous idea," he says. "Why lose it to some guy in the backseat of a Toyota when you can pay for your education?"

Question: while prostitution is okay in Nevada, who is Stern's radio show not breaking state law here in New York by arranging for this? Maybe he's just spreading the gospel, as we're doing, and isn't actually "pimping" her out?

Hookers Are Getting Tricky These Days

In Ghana, fifty or more prostitutes drank, cried, and danced at the funeral of an 11-year-old boy, causing considerable public confusion. Why were these poor (and by poor we mean, Ghana-poverty-stricken poor) women in such an uproar?

Some of them who were virtually drunk would occasionally take to the floor and dance for a while, and then move to a canopy where a picture of the deceased was, look at the image and talk to it as if they could be heard by the picture.

DAILY GUIDE learnt that the deceased used to run errands for the call girls as they lived close to his house.

Mr. Bob Atua, a farmer and an uncle to Moses, told DAILY GUIDE that he was grabbed by an unknown woman when he went out to urinate and when he enquired from her why she had held on to him, she responded by asking him what he was doing near her room when he had not come to solicit her services.

Meanwhile, as Scanner Nicole reported earlier, American hookers are going through a crisis of their own: the Bush economy.

The first 100 customers who show up with their tax rebate checks receive twice the "services" for the price of one. "We always give our customers the most bang for the buck," he says. "You bring your $600 check in, and we give you the $1,200 George Bush party--three girls and a bottle of champagne." That's one way to stimulate the, um, economy.

Gray's Papaya would argue their "recession special" is a better deal, but this one's way more entertaining.

Seriously, though, Newsweek is reporting huge decreases in income for Vegas-area prostitutes, mainly thanks to the spike in gas prices. The average cost of diesel in the West is now

$4.87 per gallon. That means truckers could easily spend $1,000 to fill up their tanks, leaving them with little extra cash and less likely to take a detour. Yet, even brothels located in the south, closer to tourist-populated places like Las Vegas, are not faring much better.
Casino gambling revenue fell from $614.9 million in December to $517.5 million in March... Many brothels consider gambling direct competition for a tourist's discretionary dollars...

You know when the desperate are too desperate to gamble, the country is really headed in the wrong direction. Bring back Ron Paul, we say! He'll legalize everything, including genocide and Special K without a prescription, and everything will be like it is on Star Trek! Sorry, we don't know where that little rant came from...

Nevada Governor Sex Scandals, Part 226

The Governor of Nevada, called "the most scandal-ridden governor in the history of" the state, and alleged molester of a woman in a parking garage, is going through a divorce so messy, he's making Scanner Emily and the rest of Las Vegas cringe...

Jim Gibbons is accused of violating the sanctity of the Republican oath with this latest round of sordid details in his crazy divorce battle. (Gibbons, you'll recall, was accused of assaulting a woman in a parking lot in 2006.)

1) "The Republican politician has brawled over custody of his 23-room official mansion – Dawn eventually moved into the guesthouse – and been repeatedly accused of lying. The month-long case has shocked even residents of Nevada's largest city, Las Vegas."

2) There is an ongoing "FBI investigation into claims that he took illegal gifts – including a free cruise staffed by Bunny Girls – from a defense contractor while serving in Congress." It was worth if it was staffed by Bunny Girls. And fuckin' free.

3) "Mrs. Gibbons detailed [her husband's] 'infatuation and involvement' with the wife of a Reno doctor. She described herself as 'a castaway wife' who had been jilted by a man who 'succumbed to the wiles' of a rival. 'Lust is the real villain here,' she claimed." Sources say the latest Love Gov. "was spotted at a sushi bar with his alleged girlfriend, and also attended her daughter's high school play."

4) Later on, Gov. Gibbons took "a dark-haired woman to the film 'Sex and the City.'"

Who's Hot For Prostitutes? Dame Helen Mirren

After the Spitzer bust, we blogged about our Deep "That's What SHE Said" Thoughts On... Spitzer and became the first people in the world to ever advocate legalizing prostitution. Turns out, Helen Mirren agrees. And she should know-- because she ran a legal brothel.

In the upcoming film Love Ranch, based-on-a-true-story, Mirren stars as Sally Conforte, the owner of the Mustang Ranch, Nevada's first legal brothel. Joe Pesci plays Joe Conforte, Sally's husband and partner in non-crime; and Taylor Hackford, Helen's real life husband, directs, providing some hot husband-on-wife direction. Helen recently said:

I definitely think legal prostitution is the way to go, given the awful, horrendous trafficking of women and the danger of girls being out on the street, so vulnerable to pimps and 'johns' In a legal brothel, they're licensed, they're protected, and the men who use them are protected because they know the girls have to be medically checked every week.

We can't find a hole in that argument. Can you?

Conspiracy of the Day: Sono Bono Was Assassinated

We can't take this story as literal fact because it was broken by the Globe tabloid, but an FBI agent claims he has evidence Sonny Bono did not die in a pathetic little skiing accident.

Ted Gunderson, now a private investigator, told the gossip rag that

"It's nonsense for anyone to now try to suggest that Bono died after crashing into a tree. There's zero evidence in this autopsy report... to show such an accident happened. Instead, there's powerful proof he was assassinated."

One month before his death on a Nevada slope, Congressman Bono was approached by another FBI agent named Bob Fletcher about government officials involved in smuggling and arms dealing. Basing his opinions on autopsy photos, Gunderson concludes that Bono was beaten to death by several individuals, probably using blunt objects, and then placed near a tree to be found by authorities.

It's possible that both the arms story and the Bono assassination theory are little more than conspiracy theory nuttiness. Nonetheless, it sounds like Gunderson's story warrants further investigation:

"(Bono) was going to make [the allegations] his No.1 priority... There's no doubt in my mind Sonny was murdered by someone who needed him silenced," Mr. Fletcher told the paper.

Deep "That's What SHE Said" Thoughts On... Spitzer

It's too bad that Eliot Spitzer didn't use his gubernatorial powers to legalize prostitution in New York. But, like all men, Spitzer was thinking with his "other head" when he joined the Emperors Club VIP list. Of course, now, since Scanner Bryan broke the story, it's too late. But it would have been a good idea. Another opportunity Spitz squandered would have been portraying his act of sin as an act of resistance, a protest against our punitive and puritanical society's punishment of prostitution.

In all seriousness, though, isn't it time we made prostitution legal? Does anyone honestly think there will ever be a deterrent strong enough to stop people from seeking out sex? I know this isn't an original idea, but if we acknowledge that prostitution isn't going away, why not legalize it? Scanners, what's your vote? Is it time to Nevada-ize New York? Or should we keep prosecuting prostituting?
