Mindy McCready capped off a horrible year with a visit to the psych ward following a suicide attempt. Let's hope the new year presents her with a clean slate.

Here's a great robbery story: a guy demanded money from a cashier at a fast food joint. The cashier laughed and said, "Get a job." The guy then pulled a box cutter and asked for the cashier's wallet, a request that was granted. The cashier had no money either, so they robber left and was quickly arrested.

Delta Burke Not in a Psych Ward, But in a Clinic

We may be the only people who care, but our favorite Desiging Woman/Halloween costume inspiration Delta Burke is not in a psych ward as previously reported, but in a "clinic." She's there to adjust her medications that she takes regularly for high blood pressure, depression and diabetes. So there.

Britney Spears Released from Psychiatric Ward, Let's Have a Party

Britney Spears was released yesterday from the pyschiatric ward of the hospital where she's been for almost a week on involuntary hold.

"[Spears' release] occurred without any law enforcement intervention, and for the public that's a good thing," Captain Sharyn Buck, commander of the North Hollywood police station, which covers the area of Spears' home, told CNN.

Unlike other recent situations involving Spears, she was not mobbed by paparazzi upon her exit from the hospital — she left without much notice, according to the Times. She was escorted by a private-security detail. Spears was photographed and videotaped driving around Los Angeles later Wednesday afternoon, and according to UsMagazine.com, she reunited with paparazzo friend Adnan Ghalib at a hotel in Beverly Hills, California, shortly after her release. Sources told the Times that she would be getting additional treatment.

Hey, y'all. Let's throw her a welcome-home-from-the-looney-bin party. We'll make a tuna casserole and non-alcoholic sangria (Kool-Aid) and you bring a dessert. Now the only question is, what to wear? It may be February, but we've been waiting for the perfect time to bust out the sparkly bra/jean shorts combination.

Grey's Anatomy Star Justin Chambers in the Same Mental Ward as Brit

Our favorite TV asshole, Grey's Anatomy's Justin Chambers, was being treated for exhaustion earlier this week at the same mental ward at UCLA Medical Center where Britney Spears is being held for psychological evalutation. Lucky for him she took all the attention, huh?

We wonder if his exhaustion has anything to do with the fact that he's 37 and has five kids? How does one get 'treated' for exhaustion? And how do we get admitted?
