Today is April 20th, aka 4/20, aka 4:20 Dood! The stoney secret of 4/20 is really out now that the New York Times has written about it.

With everyone else more concerned this year with whether the gays should be allowed to marry or not, marijuana is seemingly sneaking in on the verge of legalization for real this time. And so now more than ever, High Times magazine is celebrating with their annual 420 Party and Miss High Times Pageant, to be held at a secret location tonight.

It was worth checking the party's web page just to see the apparent difficulty a few of the stoners had with this whole "ordering tickets online" process.

Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart Mash the Potatoes

Just in time for Thanksgiving! Martha Stewart shows (who else?!) Snoop Dogg how to make mashed potatoes. The pair hit it off swimmingly discussing a wide range of topics from Snoop's made up language that "no one understands" to the merits of black versus white pepper. (Black pepper is better.)

Martha's sort of condescending and awkward, but what else is new? Everything seems to proceed according to plan until Snoop decides to add a special ingredient to the potatoes that even we, derelicts that we are, can't really defend.

Seriously, congac in the mashed potatoes?! Oh, well, it's Snoop-designed congac, so that makes sense. They should just give this guy his own channel on QVC and let him sell sell sell.

Snoop Dogg Is Planning A Bollywood Takeover

Apparently the 1 billion strong populace of India doesn't care for Western music. But all that is about to change...

...Because Snoop Dogg is heading to Bollywood. (Seriously?) He's just signed up wtih Cashmere Asia, a new Los Angeles-Mumbai entertainment company, in the hopes of bringing rap music to India. Snoop joins the ranks of other Hollywood heavy-weights, like Sylvester Stallone (seriously) who has agreed to appear in an upcoming Bollywood film.

Snoop Dogg, who likes "how the Punjabis get down" and adds that "the way they dress is fresh", already has an appearance in the title track of future Bollywood blockbuster "Singh Is King" (also: seriously?), on which he raps about "Ferrari's, Bugattis and Maseratis" and says "what up to all the ladies hanging out in Mumbai," while (most likely) simultaneously giving them a contact high.

The best part of all this? According to Cashmere Asia's co-founder, "We're introducing Snoop to a very broad audience that has never heard of him before."

Oh, snap! Sucks to be Snoop!

Snoop Dogg is a Honky Tonk Angel

It's no secret that Snoop Dogg and Willie Nelson have been smoking it up together for some time now. And it's no secret that we'd really like to get in on that shit. Instead, we'll have to settle for listening to Snoop Dogg's first country single (featuring Nelson), "My Medicine."

Once you get past the beginning (Snoop's references are the equivalent of Willie Nelson starting his first rap song with allusions the Apollo, Tupac and Alizé), the song is pretty catchy... and is exactly what you'd expect a country song from Snoop to sound like.

"Girl my love's gonna last just as long as my high and I'm high all day everyday."

But like Snoop says, "Country music is the most underrated music in the world... It always has the test of time, it's great, it's heartfelt, and it touches people no matter what color they are or where they're from."

True that, Snoop. And your song puts that cheesy Tim McGraw-Nelly duet to shame (even though we have a soft spot in our hearts for it... so we're going to share it with you).

Highs:

We learned that people who have more money than we do dress a lot worse than we do.

The Top 10 Teen Pop Stars made us laugh and cry.

We learned how to make our own dildo cam.

Our suspicions about Star Wars were confirmed. Maybe.

Lows:

We were really, really disappointed by National Fingerbang day. Really fucking disappointed.

We were pretty disappointed by Scarlett Johansson's music video.

We were disappointed when Akon and T-Pain didn't invite us to this awesome lunch.

On April 12, Martha Stewart announced the heart-breaking news that her beloved dog Kublai Khan Paw Paw Chow Chow Chow had passed away (Check the perfectly tied ribbon on the doggie body bag). Paw Paw, may you rest in peace and receive a slightly less humiliating name in the afterlife. Martha’s news brought to mind some of the other pets who share the limelight with their celebrity owners. And so, a list was born: the Top 10 Celebrity Pets.

You can tell a lot about a person by his or her pet, be it garishly groomed, pathetically spoiled and puppy-farmed (Ahem—Tinkerbell), or unique and adorable. Since we’ve already covered number 10-- Kublai Khan Paw Paw Chow Chow Chow, we’ll move on to the rest of the list.

9. Foxxy Cleopatra, Nicole Richie’s Pomeranian. Named after Beyonce’s character in Austin Powers, Foxxy Cleopatra and the also unfortunately named HoneyChild are often paraded around town wearing weaves and hairbows. Here’s hoping they haven’t felt displaced since Nicole squeezed the bun out of her oven.

8. Millie, Barbara and George H.W. Bush’s Spaniel. Barb used to take this bitch everywhere. Plus she’s the only First Pet who has written a book. Pet lovers that we are, we’d much rather have Bush dog as Prez than Bush son.

7. Atticus and Boo Radley, Jake Gyllenhaal’s dogs. Not only are this German Shepard and puggle cute, they prove that their owner has read a book! Or at least heard of one.

6. Bit Bit, Britney Spears’ Chihuahua. Dude, its name is Bit Bit and it lives with Brit Brit. This is a pity ranking.

5. Tinkerbell, Paris Hilton’s Chihuahua. Paris’ designer dogs may come and go from the public eye, but Tinkerbell will always be the one who had the good sense to try and escape.

4. Norman, Jennifer Aniston’s dog. After her breakup with Brad Pitt Aniston was rarely seen without Norman by her side. So Jen got her dog and Brad walked away with his.

3. Snoop Dogg’s Doggs. Obviously there are many Doggs at Tha Pound. This video introduces us to a few of them. If we had to choose a favorite it would probably be Cindy, the brightest dog in the house who, in Snoop’s words, “actually goes outside to shit.”

2. Max, George Clooney's pig. This 300-pound pot belly pig who died in 2006 (may he rest in peace) used to sleep in the bed with his owner George Clooney and was once run over by George's friends in the dark.

1. Tina, Jessica Biel’s pitbull. Number one solely because we want to be this animal. Oh god, what if it gets to sleep in the bed with THE BIEL???!! Amazing!

Pras On Homelessness, Obama, Oprah, and ... Sex?

Scanner Katie recently interviewed Pras Michel of The Fugees, about his latest project, Skid Row, a documentary in which Pras goes undercover for 9 days and nights as a homeless person in downtown LA’s notorious Skid Row. I met up with Pras in a hotel lobby in Manhattan to discuss the film. Pras talked to me about Muhammed Ali, why he likes Obama and doesn’t go for Bill Cosby, how Oprah and Snoop could help the “lost African-American generation” by meeting face to face, and why we’re in a “transitional moment.” But when I asked Pras about what surprised him most about Skid Row, we started talking about sex.

Katie: What surprised you most about Skid Row?

Pras: I met someone who said he hadn't been distracted by women in three years. That's how he stayed clean. Any little distraction and he would have slipped back. In my world, I think about sex -- I mean I don't think I think about sex like the average man does --

Yeah ... I can't lie to you -- sex was nowhere on my mind. Maybe because I was getting acclimated. But if I was there longer, I probably would have adapted.

And I surprised myself. When you're homeless a lot of things go out the window because it's all about survival. I had to do certain things I don't do. Like I'm not one of those people who smiles. It doesn't mean I'm not happy. It's just not part of my temperament. I never had to do that before. But on Skid Row, when I was looking for money, a guy said to "smile". He was gay. I'm not homophobic, far from it. Most guys would get offended. I wouldn't get offended, I just wouldn't smile. But on Skid Row when this guy offered me $5 to smile, I'm thinking, I have to eat. So I smiled for him. And another woman said to me, "Come on brother, it can't be that bad. Smile." And I smiled for her too.

There were a few things that happened this week that didn't have anything to do with soon-to-be-former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer's high class hooker, but we were all pretty much focused on one thing this week, and her name is Ashley Alexandra Dupre.

Highs:

We were pleasantly surprised by Ashley Alexandra Dupre.

We found out that she is hot, hot, hot.

She tossed his salad. Yup.

She made the cover of the New York Post (hot).

Ill Doctrine made a mash up of Ahsley's "What We Want" and Snoop Dogg's "Sensual Seduction."

Highs That Have Nothing to do With the Spitzer Sex Scandal:

We found a hot picture of Jessica Simpson. And we really, really want to play Big Buck Hunter 2.

We Named That Bush.

Lows:

We were all pretty surprised when the news first broke that Spitzer had dropped thousands on a prostitute.

We decided this whole Spitzer ordeal would be so much better if he'd just plain old cheated on his wife. Or legalized prostitution when he had the chance.

Of course, he resigned.

Lows That Have Nothing to do With the Spitzer Sex Scandal:

A woman stayed on the toilet for two years. Which made us fall in love with our expensive toilet paper all over again.

We worked at an arts camp over the summer and every night we'd sit in circles on the floor of our bunks and each girl would share her highs and lows of the day. It was productive, on many levels, and something we took back into our real life in the big city ("Low: thinking I could go immediately back to drinking four Jameson's after a month of sobriety and feel fine the next day."). So, now we're going to try incorporating it here.

Lows:

Saying a temporary but extended "goodbye" to Scanner Nicole.

Admitting to the world that we do, in fact, love Sex and the City. And probably losing a few friends over it.
