If you've seen the documentary &quot;This Film is Not Yet Rated&quot;, Kevin Smith goes ON and ON about that term-- how in every article he read it said &quot;Director Kevin Smith SLAPPED with NC-17 rating&quot;, and he's like &quot;i felt like my cheeks should hurt I was 'slapped' so many times.... Why is it not 'received an NC-17 rating?&quot; (ok thats not verbatim).</p> <p>You should watch that movie and you'll learn a lot about MPAA's rating and appeals board.
