How about putting in a voting button for posts? It would give you even better feedback than clickthroughs and make your userbase happier (ie, more likely to stay around)

I'm currently messing up your "Read More" statistics by opening every single one of them in a new tab before reading them. They're easier for me to handle that way. If you want to know what interests us, try being more direct about it: put it an icon that you click if you found the entry interesting.

Hey guys. Point taken, but like the first commenter said, it really does help us to find out how many people are reading what. And that helps us bring you a better Scanner. I promise we'll make a better effort to have more after the jump than before the jump (unless it's something really juicy, like boobs!) and we're working to have the jump actually jump to the place you left off. But keep the feedback coming. That, too, helps us bring you a better Scanner.

Yeah, I'm with them. I've been reading the blog for a very long time, and I'm not too upset with the changes. But the "read more" links are getting very irritating.

So do I. If you want us to click a button to read the rest of something, why not set it up like the videosift.com comments, which through [programming language] are set up so that the URL doesn't change when you click "view comments"

I still love your blog though.

There have been a lot of changes around scanner lately but I’ve been sticking with you thus far. However, your recent abuse of the click through “read more…” has gotten down right out of hand. I’m sure it helps you monitor your reader’s habits, understand their interests and what not but enough is enough. I’m posting here because this instance illustrates my point, a click through to read two additional sentences. C’mon guys.
