Tarkin ‘n’ Friends

Posted by John Constantine

While discussing this article, Vanity Fair’s first ever feature piece on a videogame, my friend lamented the game’s setting. “If it weren’t Star Wars, I might actually get it. I mean, Star Wars is just… so lame.” He’s not wrong. We are close to a decade on from the lame-ification of what was once a universally loved franchise, but there still seems to be quite a hunger for it. Just look at the mainstream interest in a new game and the new animated movie that was announced yesterday. Will Star Wars ever be cool again? Nah, probably not. But it’s still a great punchline. Here’s a delightful gag at the space opera’s expense from Paraphrase Theater. Enjoy.

Hey, does this mean that STAR WARS is now fair game for a Yesterday's Hits piece?  If so, I'm down with that.
