Anyone notice National Treasure IS Da Vinci Code? Swap Cage and Hanks, swap Church and Government and bam! Secret codes, scrolls, conspiracies and murders...

Lame.

For anyone out there who really believes conspiracies...

Occam's Razor kids--it's never half as much fun as you imagine. The Catholic Church is a pure religion as much as anything else; the bad press they get is because they are organized and centralized. Saying you're Baptist(Just as an example)is different because there is no set in stone Catechism, or doctrine(the Bible yes, but different ministers I've had interpret the Bible in very different ways...)

One thing I admire about Catholics, regardless if I don't see eye to eye with them on everything, is that in 2000 some odd years they have never changed their interpretation of the Bible--the Catechism they wrote was built after the time of Christ, and the core principles and interpretations have stood forever essentially. Why? Because they have a system, a hierarchy to protect it. Double-Edged sword much?

Of course--they have bishops who care more about power than God. Just a downside of the system. They do protect their faith though, for a devout Catholics, it's a very good thing.

If there's anything I hate more than kneejerk sentimentality, it's kneejerk religious disdain. Too much of that trendy stuff in the world.
