Maybe you have to be a fan of the genre, but I thought it was about as good as MAN BITES DOG, which isn't something you can say about THE LAST HORROR MOVIE.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Also, not to nitpick, but it's LESLIE VERNON, not VERNON LESLIE. I guess that proves your point about it being forgettable...&lt;/p&gt;

It's very difficult to create a film in the &amp;quot;gangster genre&amp;quot; that hasn't been done before and I think Terence Winter did a pretty great job. &lt;/p&gt;
