Did you see the credits at the end of the Blues Brothers trailer? "Read the Jove book" ... there was a book? What kind if weirded-out exec thought that would be a good idea, and has anyone actually read it? BTW - the editing in the trailer was apppalling. No sense of rhythm.

Fire Walk With Me is pretty problematic... I mean, it plays like a snuff movie half the time. It also lacks any of the humor that made the show great. It has a totally superfluous opening. And no Dale Cooper. But it does get intense/terrifying to a pretty unrivaled degree, Sheryl Lee is incredible, and the whole sequence from when Laura arrives at the roadhouse (to the strains of "Questions in a World of Blue"), through the long hypnotic scene in the Pink Room, is awesome.

The "Mission: Impossible" movies are a disgrace to the original, brilliant TV show. You actually had to pay close attention to the TV show, and doing so always paid off nicely. The Tom Cruise MI movies are nothing but action with small bits of plot tossed in here and there. The first film concluded with Jim Phelps becoming a traitor for the sake of money. The TV show made it clear that Phelps was a very wealthy man, paid handsomely for his work for the government.

"The Fugitive" was a fantastic movie. Too bad the makers decided to wrap it all up in just the one movie. I think it could have become a series of films.

"The Simpsons Movie" was good, but I can't agree that it was great.

"Star Trek - Wrath of Khan" was very good, but "Star Trek - The Voyage Home" was great!

"The Untouchables" and "Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad" are 100% classic! (I was one of those other four people who watched the TV show when it was on ABC.)

One movie I would add to the list is "The Brady Bunch Movie". Though it's a parody of the show, it's truly hysterical and a whole lot of fun.

SERENITY was a late casualty of this list. It was mentioned a couple of times in the planning stages but somehow didn't make the final cut. As always, though, we wouldn't be doing our jobs if we were pissing half our readers off.

You're kidding, right? The Simpsons Movie was terrible, and Mission Impossible just dropped a huge, stinking turd on it's source material. Disagree? Not only did they re-cast Jim Phelps, but they turned him into a traitor, murderer, and part-time pimp. Imagine if, let's say, Star Trek 2 had decided to re-cast Kirk and Spock, ignore most of the events of the TV series, and, just for the hell of it, made them gay lovers. It's disrespectful to the source material.

a) you can't make this list without mentioning serenity.

b) twin peaks was great but fire walk with me blew hard and often. shame on you.

c) miami vice? miami fucking vice?! that movie was as view-worthy as bits of undigested food clinging to crap in a prison toilet bowl.
