  Truth be told, we were not fans of Kidnapped when it aired briefly on NBC in 2006. In retrospect, this may mostly be because we thought Jeremy Sisto was a little miscast. (Of course, now that he's been on Law & Order for a while -- where part of his charm is the way he's slightly out of kilter with the rest of the show -- we're wondering if that's just the way he do.)   We admit it! We loved Fastlane for that hot second it was on Fox TV in 2006. We know, we know: if someone had actually ever told us that we would be hooked on what was basically a Miami Vice reboot, Fox-style, we'd have been all like "Shut up!" But it happened! And next week, it's finally coming out on DVD! Is it as handsome a DVD release as Mad Men: Season One, which is all classy and well-received and comes in a silver box shaped like a Zippo? Hardly. We go to weddings anymore and it's like they're trucking out 3rd Grade talent show champions and this guy wins a national competition and at this wedding: nothing! LOVE YOU, DUDE!   Amy Ryan, who played the slightly kooky new human-resources manager on the show's fourth-season finale, will be back for at least five more episodes. Ryan, of course, is best known for hard-edged dramatic roles in The Wire and the film Gone Baby Gone (which got her an Oscar nomination), but she was great as Michael Scott's potential soulmate Holly. Will her crush on him develop into full-blown romance before he inevitably screws everything up? Probably. Will PB&J fans turn their allegiance to the hot new couple in town? • Will the Osbournes' Next Program Be a Variety Show?

  Could be, according to an article in TV Week. FreemantleMedia North America, one of the producers of American Idol as well as America's Got Talent (on which Sharon Osbourne is a judge), is said to be pitching the idea to the major networks. In addition to Sharon and her heavy-metal star husband Ozzy, the show would feature their now equally famous kids. Kelly Osbourne, of course, has had some mild success as a singer and actress, while Jack has appeared on several reality shows in addition to The Osbournes. The program will reportedly attempt to avoid the classic cheese factor that has plagued family variety shows from Sonny and Cher and Donny & Marie to The Simpson Family Goodtime Variety Hour. Toward that end, it'll include a game-show element in addition to music and comedy, incorporating the style of such wacky international hits as Sábado Gigante and Germany's Wanna Bet? • Survey Finds Some Women Prefer TV to Sex

  According to a new survey by the British telecommunications firm Tiscali, some women would rather watch Sex and the City than have sex themselves. The company queried thousands of women between the ages of 16 and 24, and found that 17 percent sometimes speed through sex or put it off entirely so they can watch their favorite programs. Now, we have a few thoughts about this: A) 17 percent really isn't that much; B) besides, they're British; and C) who the hell is going around quizzing 16-year-olds about their sex lives? • Happy Birthday, "Dark Shadows"!

  On this day in 1966, the horror soap opera cult classic Dark Shadows premiered on the ABC television network. We are huge fans of this show, which we first encountered on the Sci-Fi Channel in its earliest incarnation, and which -- though it was noted for delivering serious gothic chills -- was also more than a little crummy. How crummy? Crummy as in on an epic scale. Back then daytime soaps were broadcast live, and if a door didn't open or someone forgot their lines or -- no foolin' -- it was so hot in NYC that you needed to run the AC even though the sound of the motors wound up on the air, well, Jonathan Frid and Joan Bennett and Kate Jackson and the many other actors who portrayed or dealt with vampires, werewolves, ghosts, and the like... • "Highlander" on Hulu: There Can Be Only, Er, Six

  Take heart, sci-fi fans: Hulu.com has begun streaming all six seasons of Highlander, the mid-'90s swashbuckler starring Adrian Paul as sword-fighting immortal Duncan MacLeod. We admit to having a soft spot for this series, which, to be frank, made a lot more narrative sense than the group of films from which it was spun off. A decent supporting cast, good use of Canadian and European settings, interesting guest stars such as The Who's Roger Daltrey, and of course the fight scenes -- complete with those lightning-crash endings -- made Highlander a step above most syndicated
