Considering how many people now think of The Who as "the guys who do the theme songs for those CSI shows," tonight's VH1 Rock Honors demonstrates that the classic-rock stalwarts are still the most vital voice of their 60-something generation. Packed with guest stars, the show includes blazing takes on "Bargain" and "The Real Me" by Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam, respectively, and even Incubus' version of "I Can See for Miles" isn't bad.
But for our money, the real highlight is Adam Sandler's musical spoof introducing the band itself. Hannukah-boy has decent-enough pipes, and his new lyrics are funnier than you'd expect. (For instance: "They've been rockin' so loud and so long, Pete can't even hear this song.")
