Apparently, British football icon David Beckham, loves the Olympics so much that he threw his substantial star power behind bringing them to London for the 2012 games. So now that his efforts have been rewarded, he's riding a red double-decker bus into China's national arena during the closing ceremonies, and then kicking a soccer ball around with some kids on the field. Seriously, that's what he's doing.
The Daily Telegraph promises us that the closing ceremonies are "set to be one of the most mind-blowing spectacles ever." We feel like maybe they didn't see the opening ceremonies. For Beckham to compete, he'll have to string the bus on wires and suspend it 300 feet in the air over a pit of fire blown from the mouths of the London Philharmonic (who will have learned that skill especially), then parasail out of the bus and play an impromptu football scrimage in the air with the kids who will also be suspended from wires. Of course that means the ball will have to stay up there as well somehow...We're still working out the details.
