“Dancing With The Stars:” Oh No You Did Not Just Call Her Fat!

Posted by Olivia Purnell

Cheryl Burke has recently taken it upon herself to respond to hateful bloggers who’ve commented on her size and shape (FYI we at The Remote Island feel that her size is small and her shape is bangin).

But apparently, it’s not just the blogsphere.  The male professional dancers have a few things to say about Cheryl Burke and Lacey Schwimmer as well . . .

They’d like the ladies to know that America does not need a “heavy” dancer.  No lie.  Louis van Amstel (who’s not even dancing this season) and Maksim Chmerkovsky actually told TV guide that Cheryl and Lacy need to take their responsibility for their ‘weight gain.”  The LA Times reports:

Pro Louis van Amstel wants dancers Cheryl Burke and Lacey Schwimmer to take responsibility for their apparent weight gain: "If you want to gain weight, it's your prerogative.  We all put on weight because there was no summer tour.  But you have to deal with the consequences."  And he thinks those consequences could be the demoralization of America: "If [the viewers] watch someone who's dancing her butt off and she's still heavy, they can be discouraged.  You have to take responsibility."  TV Guide also managed to get a supporting dis from dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who said, "When I first saw these women this season, I said, 'Guys, you know the camera adds 10 pounds.'  You have to do something about this."

What do you think?  Here’s Lacey Schwimmer:

Goofy, but not “heavy”

Cheryl Burke:

Fat?  Bitch, please.

Cheryl, Lacy: Its rarely permissible to pull a Tonya Harding, but let’s just say we know a guy who knows a guy, and that guy knows a guy.

Thank you. If these girls are fat, I'm a sumo wrestler. Normal people would be lucky to be this "fat." And...even if they were fat, a fat person who can dance like they dance is still hot. On with the dancing. Enough with the 'Society for unhealthy looking skinny people.' DWTS rocks.

She loves one-liners with sting and hates the stench of the subway in the summer. That said, she can’t get enough of either.
