The first-week sales stats are in for Taylor Hicks' new independently produced album, and let's just say there's been a wee bit of a dropoff from the numbers the "Silver Fox" did after winning Idol. And it gets way more embarrassing for Hicks...
So the new album, "The Distance", sold 9,000 copies its first week. Which sounds all right, until you compare it to the 298,000 copies his eponymous post-Idol debut album sold in its first week. The old 97% sales dropoff is not what you're looking for.
And then it gets worse. As reported by TMZ, Taylor Hicks tickets for a show at the Roxy in L.A. were reduced from the original $36.50 on the internet to nothing but the $8.75 service fee. Essentially, they were being given away. And the show still wasn't selling out. Like we said, oof.
