We actually find this casting choice fitting for two reasons: First, it provides a nice Gilmore-Girls-slash-medical-drama symmetry since Rory Gilmore herself, Alexis Bledel played such a pivotal role in the ER series finale. Second, Weil's real-life husband Paul Adelstein plays Cooper on Private Practice.
