  • "Rome" Star Teams Up With Shonda Rhimes For Newsroom Drama

    Show of hands: who's excited about Shonda Rhimes' new drama, Inisde the Box, about power women in a newsroom?  We're still largely on the fence.  On the one hand, we love a powerful women (Addison Montgomery, Callie Torres, holla!); on the other hand, Shonda Rhimes has a history of sometimes missing that mark (Meredith Grey, anyone?). 

    Whatever your feelings, there's been a bit of anticipation over who will play the central character of Inside the Box, "an ambitious news reporter...fast-talking, whip-smart and wound a little too tight for her own good." (TV Guide)    Wonder no more, because Brit actress Indira Varma is slated for the role.  We can only assume she'll be doing slightly less tragic scenes than the ones she did for a little HBO show called Rome...

  • We're Considering Crushing On Martin Henderson


    Yesterday we spontaneously grew a crush.  Today we’ve begun to sprout another.  The latest crush popped up after a little THR.com birdie told us that Martin Henderson, the pretty man above, was recently summoned by ABC to be a part of the new Shonda Rhimes produced series Inside the Box.  Box is about:

    An ambitious female news producer, and her colleagues pursuing "the story" at all costs while juggling their personal animosities and crises of conscience [ . . .] Henderson will play that male heartthrob on "Box," named Jake (thr.com).

    And this news got us to thinking, what might Martin look like in, say . . . a wet t-shirt?  Wanna see?

    Lindy Parker has worked as a ghostwriter, editor, dance instructor and a purveyor of dreams, one beer at a time. She loves Charles Dickens and Gabriel Garcia Marquez and also, straight-to-video releases with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It's possible she reads more teen fiction than she should. She hails from Los Angeles, her hometown and soul mate, but she lives in Brooklyn, the fling she'll never forget.

    Olivia Purnell left Ohio for sunny Los Angeles; then found that she couldn’t ignore New York City’s call, and brought herself to Brooklyn where she has worked with GenArt, BlackBook, the School of American Ballet, and finished an M.A. in Creative Writing from N.Y.U. She loves one-liners with sting and hates the stench of the subway in the summer. That said, she can’t get enough of either.
