Soul singer Joss Stone has been cast in as Anne of Cleves in the upcoming season of Showtime's sex-drenched historical drama The Tudors. But it's not much of a compliment, since King Henry VIII's fourth wife was famously ugly. As the story goes, Henry was captivated by a portrait of her, but then was horrified by her appearance when he actually met her in person. (Yep, just another typical blind date.) The marriage was annulled after six months -- but at least she got to keep her head, unlike certain others.
It'll be interesting to see how far the show goes to de-prettify Stone. We're thinking the full Nicole Kidman treatment from The Hours would work just fine. (Ed.: We're not sure that'll be enough.)
