"Damages": Is The Road To Hell Harder To Navigate In Heels?

The New York Times implied yesterday that the second season of Damages might not be as enthralling as the first. From the evidence of the Episode One, we have to assume that they're smoking crack.

Billy Zane and His Male Pattern Baldness To Replace Timothy Olyphant on "Samantha Who?"

Wow. Evidently, it's been a while since we last saw Billy Zane, and we're not sure we enjoy the fact that he's let his balding hair grow out from it's previously shaved state. In fact, just now, our boyfriend walked in, saw us typing this, and said, "Yikes, who is that guy?" Yeah, exactly. We feel like the extra side-hair casts his droopy eye into sharper relief and makes the overall impression slightly Boo Radley-ish or maybe just Jason Statham's older, creepier brother.

Anyway, we suppose we'll have time to get used to the new look since apparently Billy Zane is all set to replace Timothy Olyphant on Samantha Who? We're not 100% sure we're okay with this news. We sort of love Timothy Olyphant in all his oddball glory, and we're not sure Billy Zane can shake the sleeze factor enough to pull it off. Thoughts?

TV Guide Sez No "Deadwood" Movie; We Heard Otherwise

So, the venerable Matt Roush at the venerable TV Guide reported last week that amid all the news of HBO doing those shows about Washingtonian bloggers, post-Katrina musicians, and a jazz-era Atlantic City serial, there was one sad bit of news.

With David Milch now off working on his pilot about New York police in the 1970s, “I think it’s safe to report to you that the likelihood of the Deadwood movie happening is slim to none,” said HBO co-president Richard Plepler.

Ah, that's too bad. Except... we heard totally different this weekend.
