Wow. We didn't follow this guy before the scandal, but everything he's done subsequently has made us question if he ever had dignity. At least Eliot Spitzer apologized profusely, and is writing all kinds of grown-up political articles. Not Blago. Nope, word is he's asking for permission to leave the country to go to the Costa Rican jungle and film a humiliating reality show. Well, we say humiliating, but it appears Rod Blagojevich is incapable of being humiliated.

NBC says it wants Blagojevich, who pleaded not guilty to federal racketeering and fraud charges Tuesday, to appear on its upcoming show "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!"

A network statement says 10 celebrities will be dropped into the Costa Rican jungle "to face challenges designed to test their skills in adapting to the wilderness."

Great, fallen NBC is trying to use fallen Governor to boost their ratings. But he'd never do that, would he? Oh hell, yeah, he would:

Blagojevich's legal problems could end the venture before it begins. The ousted governor's bond does not allow him to leave the United States.

An attorney close to his legal defense says Blagojevich is seeking permission from a judge to leave the country to appear on the show.

No sane judge would grant that permission, but then we thought no sane judge would give Kenley Collins a $120 fine for throwing a cat at a sleeping man. There may be insane judges all over the place. And if an insane judge grants permission, Blago in the jungle could be Must-See TV. Although if it were up to us we'd be even happier seeing him on Lie To Me.

But that won't happen.

At least, that's what we think happened. How else to explain the strange look she's been given for her 20/20 interview this Friday? She's like thiiiiis far way from looking like she's in a cult. Whose idea at ABC was it to make her so unappealing? As Gawker points out today, this gal's best shot at being someone in the world depends on her being cute. And that look ain't cute. It's, like, we don't know. She looks like someone out of a Shirley Jackson short story.

Not that we need to see this or this or even this old chestnut, necessarily

... but you know. Middle ground!

Aaaaanywaaaaays, here's what she has to say for herself according to New York's Daily Intel, People Magazine, and the New York Post.

• She is capable of guilt: "I try not to revisit that place too often, but when I think about [Spitzer's first apologetic press conference] I think of [Silda's] face, her eyes, the hurt … I'm sorry for your pain."

• But not, like, an unhealthy amount of guilt: She told the magazine that if it hadn't been her in that Mayflower Hotel room, it would have been someone else.

• She's a pro: "This wasn't any different than going on a date with someone you barely knew and hooking up with them," she said. "I knew what my purpose was, they knew what their purpose was — there weren't any games."

• (And so is Spitzer, apparently): "Some guys, they want to have conversations and really get to know each other. With him, it clearly was not like that. It was more of a transaction. Strictly business."

• She is a big reader: Since her crazy public exposure, she's mostly just been working out and reading.

• Not so much of a TV watcher: She didn't know who Spitzer was when she met him as "Client No. 9." "I mean, ask a lot of 22 year olds," she said. "I was wrapped up in my family, my music. I knew the name, but the face … I'm not really a TV person."

• Being laid bare isn't something she always enjoys: On watching Spitzer's televised confession, she said: "It was surreal. I felt like I was suffocating."

• She has unique parental influences: She said her father, who took off when she was 3, called her after she hit the headlines to say, "Damn, girl. When you do it, you do it big!"

• She's lucky: She said most of her clients were "intelligent, handsome and successful."
