Actually, we have to say: we can't be the first people to have seen this and thought: "you know, it's actually just this sort of existential nightmare of a life that Charles M. Schultz was obsessed with when he was writing Peanuts." Mean, anyone else read that shit lately? It's nightmarish, a line drawing reiteration of Sartre's observation that "hell is other people." So yeah, this version's got swearing, and booze, and ill-advised hookups with Charlie Brown. But still: kinda the same.

Oh, look: one of Gawker's commenters noticed too, posting the first ever (remarkably dismal) Peanuts daily strip underneath. Merry Christmas, everyone!

This is perhaps the greatest reality-show montage we've ever seen -- an obsessed blogger's tribute to the most overused sentence in the history of the genre.

Holy smoke, did you guys see the litany of soap-related blind items that Gawker ripped off whole hog picked up from Crazy Days and Nights yesterday?

It's a veritable what's-what of seedy behavior. Have a look:

#1 - CBS actress. I didn't do them earlier in the week, but apparently this actress will because she has done almost every guy and even some of the girls on her show and others. She is single.

#2 - ABC actress. Divorced. At last count has been under the knife of a plastic surgeon 7 times and she is under the age of 40. She tells everyone that she has had only one operation, but everyone just goes along with it. Oh, and when she got divorced, everyone sided with the husband.

#3 - NBC actor. Not his first starring soap role. Been around forever. Also has a drug habit that has been around forever. Lives in a dump of an apartment because he would rather spend all his money on drugs.

#4 - CBS actor. This actor left his show recently even though he was a very popular guy. He said it was on his own terms, but he was actually fired. Seems that he had several warnings for sexual harassment but just kept doing it. Since then. Crickets make more noise than his career.

Gawker readers are all over the map with their suggestions. You got any ideas?

NewsCrush: Lara Logan

A few years ago, Radar Magazine included CBS Foreign Correspondent and former swimsuit model Lara Logan on their list of "TV's Dumbest Anchors" (not that you could actually find that on their website or anything; look here for a report on the list). At the time, Logan was on 60 Minutes II, and we didn't think much of the show, so maybe we didn't care one way or another.

But in the years since then, Logan's been on Face the Nation and the evening news enough for us to think that the Radar piece must have been the result of someone having an axe to grind against Logan, who's bright and beautiful and young and yeah, weird that anyone at CBS would try and bring someone down like that, huh?

The clincher for us was Logan's appearance on The Daily Show last night, which Gawker found to be awkward and depressing -- and we thought was awesome. She's sweet and gorgeous when she curses and she's so angry about Iraq that she's not afraid to piss off her bosses to say what she wants about it. Are you kidding? We DREAM about women like this!

AC was in the Gawker list and yeah, he's a hunk of man. (Have you seen his guns? Dee. Sull.) But right now, Andy's off saving the world, leaving his show in the capable and presumably well-moisturized hands of CNN personalities Campbell Brown and Erica Hill, who honestly, leave us in a shiver everytime we see them in a split-screen like this, "O" face or no.

Guess they got theirs.

Actually, it wasn't even Campbell's first of the evening.
