relaunch is coming in May (see the most recent trailer below).

>> CBS Corp. holds the "Trek" TV rights.

>>
CBS also co-owns twentysomethings-in-unhealthy-relationships network
the CW, whose forebear UPN aired the last two "Trek" series
(“Enterprise” and “Voyager”).

>> The "Trek" revamp is directed by J.J. Abrams, who knows a thing or two about creating hit TV shows (“Lost,” “Fringe”). (Live Feed)

Granted, most of his points present evidence that is purely circumstantial, and wouldn't hold up in a court of law, but still he makes good sense doesn't he? Maybe, we're just enamored by the idea of a J.J. Abrams/Bryan Fuller collabo on a CW Smallville-esque prequel Star Trek series. That said, what if it turned out like the 90210 reboot? Hence the skepticism. Any thoughts?

Previously:

The New Star Trek Trailer is ABSOLUTELY GREAT [VIDEO]

Star Trek Reunion on "Family Guy" Next Month

Top Ten Responses to the Star Trek Corset

Now Available: Handmade Star Trek Corsets

J.J. And then there was all this stuff about quadruple agents and clones and prophecies by some medieval inventor who created a killer robot driving instructor who travels back in time for some reason?

Well, now it turns out that creator J.J. Abrams didn't know what the hell was going on, either.

According to Washington Post columnist Lisa de Moraes, Abrams told an audience at the TV Critics Press Tour, "I was at my friend Greg Grunberg's house a year ago -- he was on Alias
and [is on] Heroes now -- and Alias was on.... I was watching and I
wasn't thinking about it. I watched a few minutes and was so confused.
I was like, literally, it was impenetrable. I was like: 'I know I
should understand this. I read the -- who the [expletive] is THAT guy?!' "

So, no, viewers, you weren't alone in your confusion. The busy writer-producer has asserted that his upcoming show Fringe, about investigators into supernatural events, will be easier to follow. Still, someone may want to remind him of that promise right around season 3.

Previously:
So Far, Our Picture of the 2008-2009 Season Has a Fringe on Top

Lost? It's Complicated

J.J.
